FUUSM Community,



The First Dialogue Session on the minister’s performance, on July 26, went
very well.  Attendance was good (49 people), and 19 people shared prepared
statements.  The strong bonds of the FUUSM community rose to the surface.
Participants listened and respected each other even when they disagreed.
And a large majority of attendees indicated they were better informed as a
result of the session.

Thank you to all who attended and participated.



The Second Dialogue Session will be on Aug. 23, 7-8:30pm upstairs in the
church.  During this session …

 * 6 more speakers will complete the sharing of first-hand experiences.

 * Summaries of the Board Ministerial Performance Review Process and this
year’s review.

 * An open discussion period for people to comment on the minister’s
performance, not limited

    to first-hand experiences, with a time limit of 1.5 min. per person,
one turn per person.  We

    suggest you prepare and practice.  You may read another member or
friend’s comments within

    your turn as well as your own, within 1.5 min. (you will not get
another turn).

 * A What Next discussion period, using a facilitator to help us focus on
particular issues.  A time

    limit of 1 min. per person during the discussion.



We have added the open discussion period to allow for comments not limited
to first hand experience.  Our initial plan for 2 sessions is now much too
optimistic, and a more realistic plan is 3 sessions.  We have tentatively
scheduled a 3rd session for Sept. 6, but will ask for your concurrence
during the What Next discussion.
