*Youth Program Needs*
The Chalice Lighter Project is working on "upping" our youth activities by
periodically including youth in the entire service once per month. The
plan is to use the work of Jeni Papp the RE educator from the UU Wooster
congregation so we aren't just inventing a new program (new to us).
*What will this look like?*
We hope to create a "play" space to the far left of the pulpit where the
antique organ currently rests. The space will include a rug (an
outdoor-type one will work best so we can wash it periodically), foam toys,
doodle pads and pencils etc. Youth, and adults if they want, can go to the
space at any time during the service and either play there or take items
back to be with their family. The goal is that our youth have an
opportunity to have fun but also quietly learn as we learn.
*What do we need?*
1. An outdoor-type rug or something that is easily cleaned
2. Foam toys
3. Doodle pads or coloring books and colored pencils (no markers)
4. Other quiet activities
If you have any items you can contribute it would be greatly appreciated.
Please be in touch with Annie Warmke (740) 252-6295 or
annie at bluerockstation.com for details or to donate by August 20th.
Somerset Maugham wrote: "A Unitarian very earnestly disbelieves in almost
everything that anybody else believes, and he has a very lively sustaining
faith in he doesn't quite know what."
