NOTE: COVID guidelines: Both Washington County, Ohio, and Wood County, West Virginia, were areas of high COVID transmission as of September 15, according to the CDC. We ask that you continue to sign in on Sunday mornings, and notify the FUUSM Office if you test positive in the next few days, so we can alert other attendees. Because some of our congregants have tested positive, we are mindful of reducing risks for others, so “We wear masks,” according to the FUUSM Board of Trustees.

“Power without love is reckless and abusive, and love without power is
sentimental and anemic.

“Power at its best is love implementing the demands of justice, and justice at its best is power correcting everything that stands against love.”

—Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.

* “All Will Be Well” was commissioned by Simon Wood, a British musician who was diagnosed with colorectal cancer but given a new lease on life thanks to cancer research. Wood’s love of choral singing, especially requiem masses, inspired him to “give back.” In 2016, he organized the inaugural Requiem To Cancer—a 24-hour a sing-a-thon of requiems, ancient and new. The event raised about $36,000 for Cancer Research UK. Wood commissioned “All Will Be Well” to be performed at the second Requiem To Cancer, in 2018. Wood died of metastatic cancer in 2019, but the third Requiem To Cancer will begin this Friday evening in Covent Garden, London. Once again, all proceeds will benefit Cancer Research UK. requiemtoecancer.org.
