FUUSM Family,

 

A New UU course for newcomers is scheduled from Feb.5 – Mar. 26 … Sundays, 9:30 – 10:45am, in the Fellowship Hall.  

 

Most newcomers come to us with previous experiences intraditional religions and don’t quite know how to fit into our very differentUU approach to religion.  This course is designed to help those new to Unitarian Universalism understandjust that.  Newcomers who have taken this course tell us it was veryhelpful.  So if you are a newcomer, this is for you.  And if you knowa newcomer, encourage them to attend.

 

Below is a listing of the course schedule.  There will be handouts available for all the sessions,so you can pick them up if you miss one.  But we strongly encourage you to attend allthe sessions you can.  The discussionsduring the sessions are important in moving from just getting information tounderstanding it.

 

2/5       Introduction.  Course Guidelines & Schedule; Sharing ofPersonal Journeys.  

2/12     Theology. UU Approach to Theology; UU in Practice

2/19     UU Evolution … Our Journey to Who We Are Now

2/26     Spiritual Practice ...  Connecting with Our Essence

3/5       Worship … Religious Diversity

3/12     Religious Education …  Religious Diversity

3/19     Social Justice …  Political Diversity.

3/26     Governance, Covenant & Participation … DiversityBetween and Within Congregations & Personal Involvement

 

We will bemeeting in the Fellowship Hall, from 9:30 to 10:45AM.  If you need child 

care, please letus know ahead of time so we can make arrangements for child care staff.

 

We encourage newcomersto attend this course and look forward to helping you on your 

UU journey.
