Hello, everyone! Just a brief reminder that I will be placing an order of
Timber Hawkeye's books, Buddhist Boot Camp and Faithfully Religionless. He
will be speaking at our service on Sept. 25, and in a book talk/discussion
that afternoon, at 1:00.
You do not need to read either book to attend. He is an inspirational,
thought provoking speaker. So please attend that afternoon and share the
information with your non-UU friends. He is not speaking about Buddhism.
He is speaking about finding our own truth and our own inner light.
If you are interested in placing an order for either book, please let me
know by Saturday, Sept. 3. Thank you!
More information is in the press release below.
Thank you! Kelcey Jacobs
Timber Hawkeye, author of Buddhist Boot Camp and Faithfully Religionless,
has just released a new book, called The Opposite of Namaste. As part of
the new book tour, he will be hosting a book talk and discussion on Sunday,
September 25 from 1:00 to 2:30 in the social hall at the First Unitarian
Universalist Society of Marietta, 232 Third St. There is no cost to attend
the event, however, donations will be accepted.
His first book, Buddhist Boot Camp, is a collection of journal entries and
letters from Hawaii. Even though each chapter is only a page or two long,
it shares a secular and non-sectarian approach to being at peace with the
world. His follow-up memoir, Faithfully Religionless, offers a glimpse
into a life filled with insight and motivation. It’s about letting go of
the need to know, the difference between feelings and emotions, the
disparity between truths and facts, and the countless benefits of mindful
living. As for Timber’s newest book, The Opposite of Namaste, he states,
“As always, the intention is to awaken, enlighten, enrich, and inspire ways
for us to mindfully live at peace with the world (both within and around
us), not because nobody pushes our buttons, but because we get to a place
where we don't have any buttons that can be pushed.”
More information about Timber Hawkeye, his podcasts, and books for purchase
may be found at buddhistbootcamp.com. Timber Hawkeye has created a
FaceBook event for the afternoon discussion. Please feel free to share this
information with friends and invite them to attend. FB Event:
