Hey, Steve -
Thank you for the update on Maggie’s surgery. I’m very glad to hear she’s doing well.
As you probably saw, I asked in a recent all inclusive congregation email whether someone might be able to pick up your ikea bookcases. I’m very much hoping that someone will step up, as I’m sure they would sell.
I’ll let you know if I hear anything, and would ask that you let me know if you are contacted directly.
Please give Maggie a hug for me.

Nancy Lee

Nancy, Maggie had her surgery yesterday (open heart) and is recovering nicely here in Cleveland.  We're doing serious downsizing so hope someone can pick up our IKEA bookcases.  We plan to return to Marietta next Sunday or Monday. Thanks, Steve Meyer 740-374-4262

Dear UU Members & Friends,
In just two short weeks, on Saturday, August 20, 9 am to 4 pm, the annual UU yard sale will take place.
Shari Ballantyne and I hope you’ve been thinking about items to donate. While we don’t want clothes, books or obsolete/broken electronics due to space limitations, just about anything else goes. As in the past, court yard canopies will be set up for items such as bikes, lawn mowers, yard tools, etc.
We ask that you please try to put prices on the items you donate. Fact is, we’re all getting older and it’s a LOT of work to price an entire room full of goods.  But if you can’t, please don’t let that keep you from donating. We’ll manage.
The fellowship hall will be open on Wednesday and Thursday, August 17 & 18, from noon to 3 p m, to receive yard sale donations. If those times don’t work for you, please call Shari or me and we’ll be happy to accommodate your schedule. There will be stickers available if you want to price your things when you drop them off.
We’ve had a couple of calls for items to be picked up.  I can manage one of them, but the other was from Maggie Meyer, who said she has two IKEA bookcases, one 5’ and one 6’ (or 7’ - I can’t find my note).  I also understand that she may be having surgery soon. Anyway, someone with a truck will need to pick those up if we are to have them for the sale. Please let me know if you would be able to do this.

FRIDAY AUGUST 19
Shari and I will be pricing and setting up from 10:30 am until we’re finished.  We would greatly appreciate help from anyone who has some time to spare. We are not doing a members preview, but if you come in to help, we won’t say no if you see something you can’t resist.

AUGUST 20 - DAY OF SALE VOLUNTEERS
The most chaotic time of any sale is when the doors open. After that, it’s usually a pretty manageable flow. We didn’t do a set schedule for volunteers last year, but instead asked that anyone who could come by for a couple of hours to help to please do so. It worked out well, so that’s what we’re doing again this year. I should mention that our wonderful Stassa Phillips has offered to bring lunch for volunteers, and also that working the sale is pretty much a fun thing to do.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 21
Coffee hour will happen as usual, though yard sale tables will still be set up.  All leftover items will be half off.

MONDAY, AUGUST 22
Volunteers are needed to box up whatever is left, (which will be picked up by Habitat) and to take down tables.  Shari and I will be there from 1 pm until finished. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!
As we all know, it takes a village to make our events successful.  A big thanks to any and all who donate or help. ❤️
