This Sunday, April 3, 2022, we will discuss two readings:
>From the March 21 New Yorker magazine, Jill Lepore, “The Parent Trap: How
School Fights, from Evolution to Anti-Racism, Pit Parents Against the
State,” Online it has a different title, "Why the School Wars Still Rage
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1z_nGGR9sg7JEYSjebVjKTzEinKh8djwS58X2McgId9c/edit?usp=sharing>."
There are, of course, many other articles one might read about this issue
including "If You Think Republicans Are Overplaying Schools, You Aren’t
Paying Attention
<https://www.nytimes.com/2022/03/21/opinion/democrats-public-education-culture-wars.html?searchResultPosition=1>"
in the NY Times.
>From the Charleston Gazette, March 1q4, Mike Tony, West Virginia Steps
Toward Hydrogen Hub Despite Criticism
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VTNS4E2SXhKzZdsgWph7-yX_dWIFg67a20wRz9ibRWw/edit?usp=sharing>
Gov. Jim Justice and a majority of the state’s congressional leaders have
submitted a proposal to participate in the federal competition for the
development of a hydrogen hub. The gas is considered a key in combating
climate change.
Ginnie McNeil has also sent me two related articles we might consider
either this week or in a following week: Both are from The Guardian and
deal with energy efficiency:
