The end of Adeline Bailey's long and much appreciated term as editor of the
Confluence is a time for reorganizing. No one was available to take on the
Herculean role that Adeline fulfilled for so long. Instead, we are sharing
the editing. I am to assemble the monthly edition, but I'm not writing it.
Instead, we are dividing the tasks, and there is room for more of you to
join us.

There will be a new Confluence Calendar

edited
by Chris Keller. This is to be more comprehensive than the official
calendar on the web site, just as Adeline's was. It will include community
events that interest members. It will also be continually updated, as new
information about events becomes available. If you have an event to be
listed on the calendar, email Chris at fuusm at suddenlinkmail.com. This
calendar will be continuously available online so you can check for the
latest information. In fact, it is available now, just click on Confluence
Calendar

.

Martha McGovern has agreed to write descriptions of the month's weekly
services, with input from Kat Hawbaker and the Worship and Ministry
Committee.

We also plan to include minutes of committee meetings, so you can be
informed. Nancy Luthy will be sending me the minutes of the Board of
Governors meetings, other committee chairs are responsible for sending me
their minutes if they want them included. Kat will write her monthly
column as in the past. We will include news of other happenings in the
church community, if you send them to us.

So far, we don't have anybody to do personal news about people in the
congregation. Perhaps the caring committee will take this on, or there will
be another volunteer. If no one comes forward, we just won't have it.
There may be less need for personal news in Confluence because we now have
the new FUUSM Members and Friends
<https://www.facebook.com/groups/fuusmmembers> Facebook group with 33
members. Personal news can be shared here, along with photographs, videos,
and other things. There are a lot of posts there already. If you haven't
joined yet, and want to, click on FUUSM Members and Friends
<https://www.facebook.com/groups/fuusmmembers> . Of course, this is
available any time, not just once a month.

For a monthly newsletter there has to be a *deadline,* I am asking everyone
with material for the new Confluence to get it to me b*y next Tuesday,
September 21*. Calendar items, of course, should be sent to
fuusm at suddenlinkmail.com at any time, as soon as you have the information.
