Sunday Sept. 5 (Labor Day) Attunement for Atonement - Lawrence Rashad Greene, Guest; Rev. Hawbaker, Worship Leader

An Afro Indigenous paradigm shift for healing colonial trauma. Bring a drum for this event.

African drumming was made illegal in the colonies before the US became a country. This broke the #1 spiritual link that the enslaved had with their African motherland. This spiritual damage is echoed in the Shamanic and New Age communities that have very little representation from African American people and don’t use Afro-centric rhythms for healing or ritual even if African drums may be used.

*This attunement opens us up to see ourselves as one of the cultures of turtle island and not just people from other lands. This attunement will also help us reach across the veil to the Moundbuilders and the sacred knowledge of healing plants.

Lawrence Rashad Greene is a student of Afro Indigenous traditions and natural mysticism of the Eastern forest.

He offers cultural outreach in S. Ohio and WV. as founder of U.G.A.T.A. -under ground African themed arts.

A pan African educational group based in the Ohio River Valley. Their focus is education, entertainment and the environment. The name Ugata comes from an indigenous word for seeds.

*We are the seed generation of African arts in this region. The African historical basis is from the days of the Underground Railroad and the Abolitionist movements. Africans enslaved in the south knew to cross the Ohio River into this promise land of freedom.”

LRG is also cofounder of Rising Appalachian Warriors, an outdoor education camp for children, and was lead naturalist at The Wilds and Highlands Nature Sanctuary.

Come celebrate our common humanity as we gather our waters and resources for building our beloved community. Everyone is invited to bring a sample of water, from your life’s journey or from a favorite watering hole, to pour into the common bowl as we look forward to our program year.
