Offertory I Ask for One Day -by Jim Papoulis
FUUSM Choir, Martha Webster, Director
I ask for one day where I don’t have to hear about pain or life that’s lost,
I ask for one day where whispers of hope are alive inside my heart,
Where there is freedom and justice and judgment is gone.
I ask for one day where I don’t have to hear about pain.
I ask for one day in my life where there is sunshine through the shadows,
Only one day in my life where the world is at peace as I sing.
I ask for one day when I close my eyes and I see the hope in me.
I ask for one day where war is a dream of the past, of long ago.
Where there is freedom and justice and judgment is gone.
I ask for one day where I don’t have to hear about pain.
One day for loving beauty, one day where we can open our hearts,
One day where hope is endless, one day to be free.
Only one day in my life where there is sunshine through the shadows
Only one day in my life where the world is at peace as I sing.
I ask for one day, just one day.

Buildings and Grounds annual fall church cleanup is being designed with respect to the
on-going COVID 19 pandemic. Instead of mass work parties, members and friends are encouraged to team with one or two other vaccinated friends to help us take care of our historic buildings and grounds. There are many opportunities: 1. leaf raking. cutting and placing limbs and vegetative compostables from courtyard in containers provided for hauling to Greenleaf, clearing leaves and debris from Putnam Street sump pump screen, insure that handicapped ramp is clear of all vegetation and obstructions, Pressure wash or otherwise clean webs and bugs from around new RE lights. Dehumidifiers need to be emptied daily by anyone and everyone venturing into the church. Please report any additional maintenance issues or opportunities you may discover .
It takes a village.
