Sat. May 29 (2-4 pm) at East Muskingum Park in Marietta Hospice Community Memorial
Local Marietta businesses are coming together to host a community memorial to give people an opportunity to mourn the passing of beloved friends or family members. By displaying a photo and written eulogy of loved ones, community members will have the opportunity to pay their respects and reflect on fond memories later this month. All COVID protocols will be followed. The event is not only for people whose friend or family member passed from COVID-19, it is also for people who weren’t able to attend a traditional funeral service due to pandemic restrictions.

Current FUUSM Guidelines for Building Use
*If attendee is not feeling well, they should not attend
*All attendees sign in and provide information requested.
*Maintain 6 ft. distance, “take turns” entering, exiting, & taking seats to allow spacing.
(Sanctuary capacity 25-50; Fellowship Hall capacity - 15).
*Use face masks that cover nose and mouth. We have some available if you forget to bring your own.
*Wash hands/use hand sanitizer upon entering building.
*No food or beverages in the building– you can’t eat/drink with a face mask on.
*One person in a bathroom at a time.
CDC recommends fully vaccinated people can safely gather together outdoors in small groups without masks now.
The Board of Trustees will be reviewing possible changes to the guidelines for the future and welcomes input,
although we will continue to be guided by science and safety.
covidactnow.org data shows Washington Co. Ohio at medium risk, with only 38% with one dose or more vaccination (daily new cases, *per 100k is 6.7). Wood Co. WV is similar with slightly more new cases *8.6).

June Sunday Service Schedule
Sunday June 6, 2021 Flower Communion ~ Live Service and Ceremony.
Bring your flower or plant to share in this annual exchange as we build a community bouquet.
The Flower Communion will be different this year. Safety measures (sign-in, masks and healthy spacing)
will be followed, and everyone is invited to bring a flower from home. (Extras will be available, and are welcome if you have some to bring).
The gathered bouquet is a symbol of diversity. In the entry way, the congregation will contribute and create bouquets in vases, that will be brought forward during the service. We will use the aisles for healthy spacing as we exit in one direction, taking a different flower from the display to carry it home. There will also be a Flower Meditation (slideshow) - Send your photos to Rev. Kat.
The Zoom presentation will not be the focus of this service, but it will be available.
Sunday June 13, 2021
Daniel Parker -Universalist Preacher Change of Heart & Mind Prof. David Talbot
Juneteenth Sunday June 20, 2021 (Father’s Day)
Pride begins with knowing our own worth, and having it affirmed by those we love and admire. Long have we lauded
the famous forefathers of our religious institutions, yet voices from the margins have been missing, and the full stories
and humanity has been limited by a narrow view. Breaking down gender stereotypes benefits everyone and all.
Sunday June 27, 2021 Sunday Morning Worship ~ General Assembly
The First Universalist Church of Minneapolis has been a model of shared ministry and what it means to put the work of dismantling white supremacy and building anti-racist, anti-oppressive practices at the center of their ministry. They have been on the front lines in support of the Movement for Black Lives in Minneapolis, bringing spiritual care and moral leadership in the wake of George Floyd’s murder by police and the important uprisings for justice that followed. Children and families are a vital part of their ministry, and they have been using creative approaches to engage all ages in worship during the pandemic. Their leadership exemplifies some of the best practices for the creativity, spiritual depth, and moral leadership that is possible when we embrace the work of shared ministry rooted in love and justice
