Board of Trust Governors Meeting   Sunday, August 15, 7 PM via ZOOM

Reminder: Any member of the Society and/or Donor to the Trusts may attend to provide oral or written comments for consideration at the meeting.

The Today's Issues group is taking a two week break and resuming on August 15.  



Use a FUUSM Building Entry Log (in a bright red folder) in the Office, Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall. 

Please sign in and out each time you enter any of the buildings.   Thank you.  



Rev. Hawbaker is on vacation in August.  Please contact the Office with questions about calendar, the Board of Trustees for policy matters, and the Committee on Ministries for any concerns, and the Caring Committee to share joys or sorrows or needs for support or celebration.

Fri. July 30th-Sun., Aug. 1st  Harmar Days -  Join the Historic Harmar Bridge Co. for a  summer celebration in Harmar Village (West side) open to all! Funds raised go to Save Harmar Bridge.

Fort Street pollinator habitat - Volunteers are needed for an informational table at Harmar Days, periodic work days on the site, and to help with planting seedlings in the fall.

FUUSM Nursery Attended on Sundays (10:30 am. -12:30 pm) following all FUUSM COVID protocols.

For those with young children who may wish to attend in-person Sunday services, please be advised that our dedicated Nursery Attendants will be available. 

Nursery Schedule for August: Laura Cejka and Deborah Lauer will attend the Nursey each Sunday (August 1, 8, 15, 29). Laura and Lela Erb will attend on August 22.

SUMMER MOVIE NIGHTS AT THE BALLANTYNES' OUTDOOR THEATER

See the stars on the screen under the stars in the sky!

Every Saturday evening in August, Dave and Shari invite you to a FUNdraiser Movie Night, right in their own yard.  - Entry fee: $5.00 per person  - "Theater food" available for purchase, plus beer, wine, and other beverages.  - All money goes to FUUSM.  - Masks optional.  RSVP (740-568-8200) so Dave and Shari know how much food to prepare and how many chairs to set out. (No reclining seats available unless you bring your own!) Theater opens at 8:00 p.m.; movie starts around 9:00  or 9:30, depending on arrival of darkness.

Here's the line-up of films:  August 7 - The Call of the Wild; August 15 - A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood; August 22 - Little Women; August 29 – Judy  In case of inclement weather, the film night will be rescheduled.

Women's Group To Meet August 11

Please watch for updates about the FUUSM Women's Group meeting in August. The usual meeting date is the second Wednesday of the month. Please contact Cindy Brown (lablibn at gmail.com) if you'd like to host the group in August. The Women's Group welcomes all women who are members or friends of FUUSM.

Men's Group To Meet In Person August 18

The August 18 meeting of the FUUSM Men's Group will follow the in-person, potluck meal format, to be hosted by Al Tuttle at 6:00 p.m. at his home, Rising Moon Farm, 3420 Little Sancho Creek Rd, Middlebourne, WV 26149. FUUSM YARD SALE FUNDRAISER!  Friday, August 27 - Sunday, August 29, 2021  

Open to the Public 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 1:00  - 3:00 p.m. Sunday (half price hours) (Special half-price hour for FUUSM Folks – Sun., 12 - 1:00 p.m.)



Here's how you can help:

- Gather up your items. Please: No books, no clothes, no DVDs, no old TVs

- Set a price on each of your items. 

-  After the service on Sunday, August 22, tables will be set up in the Social Hall. Monday, August 23 until Thursday, August 26, any time between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m., please bring your items to the FUUSM Social Hall. Tables will be designated as to categories of items, and pricing tags will be available if you need them. Furniture or large items should be placed at the back of the Hall. Someone will be available to help you during those times. (If you decide to shop while you are delivering your own items, please honor the price[s] indicated, and give your payment to the person in charge.)

- Large items that you need help transporting? Contact Shari Ballantyne (740-568-8200).

- Want to help during delivery or sale hours? Contact Shari to volunteer.

- Donations of plastic shopping bags would also be appreciated.

Reminder from your GSC aluminum can recycler: Please separate cat food cans and foil from beverage cans that you bring for recycling. They're all aluminum, but a different composition, and they must be deposited separately at the metal recycling facility. Thanks!
