"Braver Angels" - George Banziger and Bev Horstman, speakers 11am - Zoom and Facebook

Braver Angels is a national organization trying to address the problem of political polarization in our country. 

George is a member of Braver Angels. Also visiting by Zoom will be Ms. Bev Horstman, State Coordinator of the Ohio chapter of the organization. 

 Since the presidential election Braver Angels has sponsored two initiatives to address polarization: Holding America Together and With Malice Toward None. 

George and Ms. Horstman will describe those two initiatives. Other initiatives by Braver Angels are planned for the first part of 2021. A group of people in the Marietta community, including FUUSM members and friends, have expressed an interest in Braver Angels and in supporting Braver Angels' initiatives in the Mid-Ohio Valley. 

Braver Angels and the principles it supports are similar in several ways to FUUSM principles.

Please call before you come to the Office (740) 373-1238) and sign in and out each time you enter any of the buildings.  Use the FUUSM Building Entry Log

Sunday Jan. 31, 2021  Charter Sunday

Charter Sunday    Celebrate FUUSM’s Birthday!  There is room for you in the Sanctuary on Sunday Mornings.  Following all of our safety protocols, if you are not participating in Zoom or Facebook, and are comfortable coming into the Sanctuary for Sunday Service, you are welcome. We are planning a once a month feature to begin this careful move forward in person.

This perspective can help create conversations between leaders and the people they serve.  A mission or values-based budget shares information in ways that focus our attention and resources on what is most important.  It’s a way of understanding how a congregation uses its assets and resources to serve its mission that makes sense to the members who care about how

the congregation is serving its mission.”   Rev. Kat.



Looking Ahead

Friday, February 12 (7pm) ZOOM Chinese New Year celebration.

Opening prayer/cleansing, Chinese New Year story, favorite family jokes, origami instructions by Rileigh Trembly and Kristin Chisholm, a virtual solar powered 100 percent biodegradable hot air balloon release, virtual fireworks display and wrap up for the best 2021 ever.  Everyone is welcome.

Vaccination

Memorial Health System has a section of their website devoted to vaccine information. They are providing the Moderna vaccine with appointment-only drive-thru clinics for those over 80 years old, tonight, Thursday and in the future.  Call 844-887-4148 to do the pre-registration work.  

Keep sharing information to help people access these important services.
