Thank you, Ron!
I sent Rep. Johnson this message shortly after yesterday's violence began:
This is a shameful day in our country. At the urging of the president you support, armed thugs have stormed our nation's capitol and disrupted the proceeding that has been a cornerstone of our democracy for more than 200 years. If blood is shed today, your president and you are to blame.
"If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need."-- Cicero

Subject: [Fuusm-l] Attempted coup
Yesterday we witnessed something we should never expect to see in our country; an attempt to overthrow the results of a democratic election. Prior to this attempt, Congressman Bill Johnson, who represents our sixth congressional district, was among the group of legislators who said they planned to vote to overturn the election. When the inevitable violence erupted yesterday, congressman Johnson was among those who condemned the violence. However, when the house reconvened and it would seem clear to everyone that their enabling of an insurrection was a mistake, congressman Johnson voted to overturn the results. This morning I sent him the following email:
"I am one of thousands of your constituents who is alarmed by your role in enabling an attempted coup of our country. I cannot imagine what has led you to turn your back on the constitution that you swore to uphold. I was mortified to learn that you planned to vote to overturn the results of a free and democratic election. When the inevitable violence began as a result of this attack on democracy you were among those who condemned the violence and I felt encouraged that you had finally realized how dangerous this was. However, I was dismayed that after this attempted coup failed you actually voted for overturning the election results. As long as people in positions of responsibility continue to enable lies and dictators our democracy is not safe. In the past I have personally thanked you for some of your work on behalf of your constituents. But this act that many consider to be sedition will be a stain on your career that will never fade."
If you are as outraged as I am, contact congressman Johnson at his office or by email.
Ron
