At our meeting Tuesday night we learned more about the UU the Vote Facebook
group from Jane Tumas-Serna. This group has had a great deal of
enthusiastic participation by UU's of color. It is a place to get ideas
about what other UU congregations are doing. While Marietta/Parkersburg is
a predominantly white area, we have been working actively with the Black
Lives Matter group and we would certainly welcome more participation from
the black community. We recommended that those of you who are interested
go on Facebook and apply to join the UU theVote group, as I have done.

We will have another Zoom meeting Wednesday, October 23 at 7 to discuss
ideas both for collaboration with other UU churches and for working with
local organizations. This is not limited to election activities. To join
the zoom group, go to this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88626163372

I applied to join the UU the Vote Facebook group and had to answer the
following questionnaire items that give an idea of the climate of the
group. It is nonpartisan, not aimed at promoting particular candidates.

Leave the Candidates Out of ItEach of us individually will choose whoever
we think is the best candidate. There are other forums for that
conversation. In this group, we focus on what we can do together as a faith
