FUUSM Members & Friends:

I am a member of a national group called Braver Angels, which is dedicated to addressing the extreme political divide in our country.

Tuesday evening I participated in the national meeting of members of Braver
Angels. In that webinar (via Zoom) Braver Angels announced their current (and urgent) initiative, "Hold
America Together. (HAT"

There are three aspects of this initiative:

          1. Public Argument - The major feature here is a public letter to be
sent to media today announcing this initiative. I have attached their letter.

          2. Crisis Planning - There is the possibility of violence in the
aftermath of the election if one side (the losing side) thinks that the election
was rigged or stolen. Braver Angels is asking for a commitment to non-violence,
as you see in the letter.

3.Post-election Coming Together - This will be an attempt to bring
leaders and institutions together after the election.

Braver Angels is asking those people who support this initiative to do
three things:

                    a. Sign the letter

                    b. Ask 25 others to sign the letter (friends, neighbors, acquaintances)

                    c. Organize at least one on-line gathering to discuss coming
together (talking points for such meetings will be offered by Braver Angels).

I have already signed the letter and am in the process of asking at least 25 others to do so You can sign it virtually by going to:

                  braverangels.org/hat

I believe that the principles of Braver Angels align well with some of our FUUSM principles.
