Access to the FUUSM Office is limited at this time for safety purposes.   Please call or text Chris Keller before you 

come in. If there is something you need copied or for Chris to do she can have it ready when you come in.   

Masks are required. Use the FUUSM Building Entry Log (bright red folder) in the Office, Sanctuary & Social hall.  

Please sign in and out each time you enter any of the buildings.

"Sources of Spiritual Sustenance"   

We often speak of faith and spirituality as a journey and that is more vital than a particular destination.  It is a process of study, reflection and practice or behavior.

The UUA Board of Trustees was introduced to a process to consider changes to Article II of the UUA Bylaws (the Principles & Purposes) which includes 6 Sources and 7 Principles, with discussion focused on a proposed 8th Principle.  We’ll take a personal look at sources of spirituality that sustain us in times such as these.

- FUUSM's virtual choir will present "Down To the River To Pray".



A request for the women of FUUSM. Nothing is normal in this pandemic year, and that includes women's group, but some of us have been discussing ways to meet the needs of our diverse group, some of whom need to avoid most in-person contact and some of whom really need to meet in real life (with appropriate precautions, of course). One idea is to have multiple smaller women's groups meeting either virtually or in person, and adding different times to meet the needs of diverse schedules.

Online Auction - M. Fredericks Fundraiser for FUUSM
Starting Monday, November 2, 2020, at 10 am,  Nancy W. Lee will send out 2 or 3 items on which to bid (with pictures) via the FUUSM email list.  Bidding will be open for 72 hours, closing out on Thurs., Nov. 5 @ 10 am.  There’ll be another round each week.

Marietta Main Street First Friday in November - Community Harvest
This Friday Nov. 6th in downtown Marietta- Harvest of Hope will be partnering with 
Marietta Main Street for the Community Harvest First Friday event from (5pm - 9pm) at the Armory on Front Street.  There will be a community food drive with drop off locations throughout downtown Marietta and some special incentives and discounts in some of the stores if you bring in a food donation.  Come downtown to shop, visit, grab a bite to eat and join us in the fun at the armory!   Be safe, and/or make a drive-through drop-off, OR bring it by FUUSM during the week, and Rev. Kat will deliver the items on Friday.

Looking Ahead
Sat. November 14, 2020 (3pm)  A Celebration of Life for Ron Tepley.
The service will be mostly on Zoom, although to honor Ron’s long held desire to come back to church, a few of us will gather in the Sanctuary.  Family members and friends will join in the service via Zoom, and please feel free to help spread the word and share the usual Sunday Zoom link with all those who wish to attend.



Communication Reminders

Please limit spoken announcements in the Zoom meeting to essential facts and utilize the Office Weekly Update or reach people via the email list  (FUUSM-L at fuusm.org).  Although we can’t visit as we have, please visit our website for information and resources (www.fuusm.org) and FaceBook page (First Unitarian Universalist Society of Marietta). Invite others to visit and like our page and learn more about our congregation. Please include Chris Keller in the FUUSM Office (fuusm at suddenlinkmail.com) for all calendar items and programs.  We want to connect and share information, but please be mindful when you reply to the whole list, as that creates many more emails than necessary.
