I wanted to follow-up on Rebecca Phillips' suggestion of creating an
online shopping list that supports smaller businesses and not companies
like Amazon.  My goal is to pull together a few suggestions (some from
FUUSM folks on this listserv) but the list is limitless.  It's my hope
that you will consider the list when you have something you need, and
can't purchase locally from locally owned companies.

List of options to avoid Amazon*

If you feel you must shop with Amazon then try going to the “Used”
section to find gently ot unopened packages. You'll find used books,
toys, and just about anything else you can imagine, plus save some money.
