Friends,

A Green Sanctuary subcommittee (plus a few outsiders) has been planning a Sustainable Marietta Forum for April 3-5 since November! We had nine workshops on the agenda (including one by the mayor), a farm-to-table lunch, a respected keynote speaker, a panel discussion, an evening movie screening, the Sunday service, and a Social Justice Sunday discussion of how to attain a sustainable community—and more!

Well, that’s not going to work for April 3-5. We were so pleased and thrilled with how the plans were going—it was a true team effort, and the forum was going to be thought-provoking, inspirational, and even motivational. So we’re not giving up. We’re postponing it until a few months after we get the all-clear from health officials. Obviously, we have no idea when that will be.

But also, we’re working on something to keep our momentum going: a survey on sustainability, which we’ll send to everyone who expressed any interest or commitment to the forum. Maybe we’ll send it to FUUSM-L, too. So, stay tuned! This issue remains very much alive and on our minds. But you can erase April 3-5 from your calendar.

Please stay healthy but connected,

Love,

—dawn h.
