For this Sunday, December 19, the Today’s Issues group will discuss two
essays:

>From the New York Review of Books, January 16 issue, page 26, Amy Knight,
“The Secret Files of the Soviet Union,” a review of Judgment in Moscow, by
Vladimir Bukovsky.  A copy of this essay is attached.

>From the Chronicle of Higher Education, Simon During, “Losing Faith in the
Humanities: The Decline of religion and the decline of the study of culture
are part of the same big story.”  To read this article, open the following
web page and scroll down to pages 20-24.
