The today’s issues group will skip this Sunday, December 3, and meet on
December 10 to discuss two essays from the December 5 issue of the New York
Review of Books:

Page 22, Michael Tomsky, “A Dem for All Seasons?
about the race for the Democratic presidential nomination. We will, of
course, also consider other information about the nomination contest,
impressions of the debates, and so on

Page 24, “An Unfinished Revolution
<https://www.nybooks.com/articles/2019/12/05/reconstruction-unfinished-revolution/>,”
about reconstruction and white supremacy after the Civil War and
implications for today.

The group meets in the parlor of the Religious Education building next to
the church at 9:30 on Sunday mornings (skipping Dec 3 for Thanksgiving).
Please do the reading and join our lively discussion. Anyone interested in
the elections and/or in America’s problem with white supremacy is most
welcome, no background beyond the two articles is needed..

Both essays can be read without a password on the NYR site, just click
on the titles above.
