Dear FUUSM Friends and Family,

I write to share the sad news that Emerson Shimp has died.  

I will miss his ready smile, tremendous voice, positive attitude and very generous heart.
We was a man of many talents, hobbies and friends.  He is missed by his beloved Beth LaPore who was his faithful companion and attendant, his children and their spouses, his sister and the whole family, especially the grandchildren.

I can still hear him singing in the Sanctuary, strong enough to fill the space and an anchor for the choir.  I know he was willing to help with all the activities, the community meal, and special appeals, and sharing his flowers for the plant sale.

His love of music was a joy shared with so many, and we will remember his songs.
Some of them will be featured in a Celebration of Life on this Sat. June 29th, 2019 @ 10am in our Sanctuary.
There will be a reception at their home - 607 Washington St., following the service.
A time of Visitation with the family will be held on Friday from 4-6pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home on 4th St. in Marietta.

Contributions to support Washington County Children’s Music can be made at the Marietta Community Foundation.
