readings from the July 18 issue of The New York Review of Books.


Page 17, Michael Michael Tomsky, “The Rules of the Game

about the Democratic Party primaries.


Page 44, Marilynne Robinson, “Which Way to the City on a Hill?” about John
Winthrop’s vision of the Masssachussetts Bay Colony as a “City on the Hill”
and its impact on colonial history including slavery, Indian policy,
diversity and property rights.

The group meets in the parlor of the Religious Education Building next to
