[Fuusm-l] Readings for Today's Issues discussion this Sunday

For this Sunday the Today’s Issues group will discuss two essays from the
February 7 issue of the New York Review of Books.
Page 3, Jackson Lears, “Imperial Exceptionalism
<https://www.nybooks.com/articles/2019/02/07/imperial-exceptionalism/>,” a
review of two books about the decline of the American “empire”.
Page 35, “Accentuate the Positive,” a review of two books about positive
trends in the world today.
The group meets in the parlor of the Religious Education building next to
the church at 9:30 on Sunday mornings. Please do the readings and join our
lively discussion.
The first article can be read without a password on the NYR site (click on
the title above). I am attaching a copy of the second article here.
