and explaining the #PSOTU.  We will be participating in story circle this
coming Sunday, January 27,2019 in the Social Hall at 12:30 to 2:30.  Come

and running.

You can help create a culture of deep listening and connection by
participating in the People’s State of the Union (PSOTU). *From January 25
- February 3, 2019, join hundreds of others in this annual civic ritual by
hosting a Story Circle in your community.*

Whether you're hosting a few neighbors around your kitchen table or a
larger group at a school, cultural center, or community organization, the
steps are simple:

Here’s how one participant put it after a previous year’s PSOTU event:

*Taking equal time to actually listen to each other and reflect. No
crosstalk, no interruptions, no elite people hogging the microphone...It
was humble, it was real, it was honest, it was unsentimental and
unpretentious, straightforward and so complex. It was a true *encuentro*
and there will be many more as we build this thing of ours. The Union is in
grave danger. But the People are beautiful.*

For #PSOTU2019, Story Circle participants are invited to respond to any of
the following prompts (or create their own):

   of our union.

   Share a story about a time you felt a sense of belonging—or the
   opposite—to this nation or your community.

   Share a story of an experience that inspired you to take action in the
   past year.
