ATTENTION FUUSM NEWCOMERS

Unitarian Universalism is very different from traditional religions. Our approach to theology, our worship services, our shared ministry, our inclusiveness toward a variety of people and religious beliefs, our activism for social justice ….. in all these aspects we are different, sometimes markedly so. No wonder that it’s not easy for newcomers, often with backgrounds in traditional religion, to figure out how to be a UU.

The New UU series is meant to help newcomers, new members, and new friends negotiate through these differences and find their way of fitting in. If you are new to Unitarian Universalism, we highly recommend that you attend this course. This series is a way for new people to learn what Unitarian Universalism is and some of the issues involved in being a UU . Those who have taken this series report that it was very helpful.

The New UU series will start on January 27 and last through March 17, on Sunday mornings from 10am to 10:45am, in the Fellowship Hall. We will be covering such topics as theology, UU history, worship, religious education, spiritual practice, social justice, governance and polity, and membership.

Drop-ins are welcome, but attending the whole series will give the maximum benefit. Contact Darryl Ting if you have any questions.
