[Fuusm-l] Faithify Campaign to meet Solar Match Fund challenge

Dear FUUSM Friends,

The Green Sanctuary Committee has launched a Faithify campaign:

To help us extend our reach for donations for our Solar Match Fund. We’ve already raised more than $7,000 (thanks to many of you) toward our goal of $10,000 by April 22 (Earth Day), but we hope to raise another $2,000 through Faithify. Remember, every dollar we collect will be DOUBLED (up to $10,000)!!!  

This money will go toward making our RE building as energy efficient as its 130-year-old bones will allow: insulating the walls, replacing the original windows, and upgrading the furnace. If we can accomplish that, our solar array will generate as much power as both of our buildings use in a year, making our net carbon footprint ZERO.  If we don’t make the RE building energy efficient, we’ll still have to buy fossil-fuel-powered electricity from the grid, while heat leaks out the walls and windows. We can do better than that. 

My house is not suitable for solar power because the south-facing rooflines are shaded by an enormous tree that I don’t wish to cut, but I can support renewable energy by helping FUUSM use their solar power as effectively as possible. I hope you will join me by contributing to the Faithify campaign and encouraging everyone you’ve ever met to do so, too!  If we can get all of our Facebook friends to chip in just $5, we’ll reach our goal easily.
