DAY OF THE DEAD FIESTA

Hosted by Laura Serna, whose family heritage includes celebrating Day of the
Dead.

 

Bring with you a picture, or more than one,  of a deceased loved one and  a
candle for the altar to burn in their honor.  Bring one of their favorite
snacks or drinks to share with those who have traveled on.  It is said that
you can invite them back through the veil to visit & enjoy their favorite
things  during Day of the Dead.

 

Day of the Dead celebrations (Nov. 1 & 2) are a tradition in central and
southern Mexico for honoring loved ones who are deceased, and is becoming
more widespread to other places, as well.  Beautiful altars (some quite
elaborate) are created to honor the spirits.  Some common altar decorations
include pictures of the dead relatives, brightly colored cock's comb flowers
and wild marigolds, candles, nuts, vegetables and fruit, large loaves of
bread, a variety of drinks and decorated sugar skulls. 

 

No charge to attend - HOWEVER, ON THIS SPECIAL NIGHT LAURA HAS INVITED A FEW
TAROT READERS TO ATTEND AND OFFER READINGS FOR LOVE DONATIONS THAT WILL BE
COLLECTED AT THEIR INDIVIDUAL TABLES.  This is optional, left up to each
reader whether they want to charge for their readings.  

 

Love donations to support the collective group are accepted, but not
expected, to cover building rent, supplies and being able to offer free
events.
