· The linen tablecloth and matching napkins you inherited from Aunt Henrietta
· That crock pot you’ve never used
· The set of pumpkin-shaped custard cups you’ve used only once
· The lovely crocheted lap robe you made last February
· The Chutes and Ladders game you bought for your granddaughter, but she already has it
· Three jars of apple butter you made and canned just last week
· That beautiful necklace your brother gave you for Solstice last year that doesn’t go with anything in your closet
· Six unopened boxes of herbal tea and a teapot from a local potter
· That bud vase your college sweetheart gave you—time to let it go
· That seriously nice spring-form pan, because in six years, you’ve only made one cheesecake
· The gift card your colleague gave you for Bar-B-Cutie , forgetting that you’re vegan
What’s in your closet, chest-of-drawers, desk, cabinet, or storage unit that SOMEBODY would probably want—somebody who isn’t you?
Please consider donating your new, nearly new, perfectly good, or antique stuff to the Country Store at the FUUSM Service Auction. How about a gift certificate from your own business, or from the nail salon where your sister works? These should be items valued at $30 or less, not quite suitable for the live or silent auctions, but surely, somebody would consider a worthy prize. No junk, please! We’re looking for things someone would want to take a chance on.
Dawn Hewitt is collecting items for the Country Store. Bring them to church on October 22, or November 5 or 12, or call or text her at (812)320-3449, or email her at dawnbirder at gmail.com <mailto:dawnbirder at gmail.com> to make arrangements to drop them off or to have her pick them up. Or just drop them on the couch on her front porch at 622 N. 7th St. in Marietta.
Please make sure all Country Store items are in Dawn’s possession by 9 p.m. Wednesday, November 15.
You’ll receive three Country Store raffle tickets with your paid admission to the Service Auction, and you can buy more—five for $5 or twelve for $10—from Dawn the night of the auction—NOTE: CASH OR CHECK ONLY for Country Store raffle tickets.
