FUUSM Family,
Several people in the congregation have asked me about the Tai Chi
exercise classes on Tues. night at 7pm and Sat. mornings at 9am. Anyone
interested in learning Tai Chi exercise is welcome to attend and try it
out for free. If you try it out and like it, you can keep taking
lessons and then sign up for the lessons during the Service Auction.
Anyone who bought it as a Service Auction item in the past but then
dropped out, can continue on at no additional cost.
Note that this is the exercise form of Tai Chi. It is adapted from, but
definitely not, martial arts Tai Chi. Tai Chi exercise is a series of
slow, low-impact movements which work the muscles of the entire body.
It promotes general fitness and is especially good for improving
flexibility and balance.
Beginners can usually become functionally proficient (knowing what to do
and how to do it) in about 6 months. And I continue to support
individual improvement with coaching after that.
Hope that helps,
Darryl
