For the past eight years, John Howell has served as a volunteer teaching assistant for an Ohio University course called "Religious Beliefs." He is a practicing Quaker, and currently serves as clerk of the Friends Meeting in Athens. Mr. Howell will help us look at some difficult questions: Are we all in this together? Do we, as a people of faith, have a sense of calling?  Where do faith and hope come from?

The Education/Economic Justice Group of FUUSM - 

What does it take to educate a child?   Come join us Sunday August 6, 2017 (1-3pm) in the Social Hall - 

For a community discussion about what it costs in resources.  With Dr. Tony Dunn – Superintendent of Belpre Schools, and Community involvement Alice Chapman – Founder and director of the Ely Chapman Center.



The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Athens, Ohio (UUFA) wishes to connect with college students among your congregation’s families who are attending or planning to attend Ohio University.

Our Religious Exploration program for children has hired UU college students in the past to help teach classes. We hope to hire a few college students for 20 weeks of RE lessons during the 2017-2018 school year.

CHANGES:  The August Worship and Music Committee will meet on Wednesday, August 9th (3pm) 

at the home of Shari Miller – 841 Greene Street, Newport Ohio.  (3pm)  The Women’s Group will also meet there following the  W & M meeting. 



The August Circle Supper will be held on the second Saturday (August 12th) @ 6pm. 

Rev. Kat/LeRoy McCarty will host at their home – 650 Ferncliff Road – Mtta. (Devola).
