Email Lists
Email lists (also called listservs) are a convenient tool for a set number of people with a common interest to communicate with one another--all to one and one to all. Just send your mail to the listed address and it goes to all members of that list. There are several active now (see below) and any number can be created if you have a need. Send an email to tech at fuusm.org <mailto:tech at fuusm.org> if want to subscribe or unsubscribe to one of these lists or if you have a committee or a project and want a list set up for you.
PLEASE NOTE: You cannot send an email to a closed list if you are not already a member of that list. It will be blocked and you should receive a notice of that fact. If you want to send an email to a board or committee you are not on, please address it to the Chairperson who can forward it as appropriate.
ALSO NOTE: Be careful if you want to reply to a message received from one of these lists to only the person posting to the list. All lists, except for the main fuusm-l list, as noted below, already reply to all the list members when you use the reply function in your mail program because they are smaller topic-focused lists.
To reply to the person posting and not everyone, please use the Forward function.
On the main fuusm-l list, Reply goes to the poster by default. If you really want your reply to go everyone, use the Reply All function.
NOTE TO USERS OF GMAIL, HOTMAIL, YAHOO, AND SIMILAR WEB-BASED MAIL SYSTEMS: If you are not receiving emails from the church you expect to, note that these systems frequently think fuusm.org <http://fuusm.org/> email is spam and send it to your junk/spam folder. Check that first and if that is what happened, mark it as "not junk/spam". Putting the list's email address in your address book should also prevent this from happening again.
