FREE EVENT - AURA AND CHAKRA PHOTOGRAPHY

 

Marietta, Ohio - Wednesday, Oct. 26, 7:00 pm, at 232 Third St, Marietta, OH
(UU Church basement).

 

Speaker will be Phillis Compton, who will demonstrate how she does this with
a computerized program.

          Aura is defined as "the distinctive atmosphere that seems to
surround and be generated by a person, thing or place."  Some complementary
medicine practitioners and mystics see this emanation around the body of a
living creature to represent its essence.

          Chakra means "wheel or disk" in Sanskrit.  They move by spinning
and forming vortexes that serve to move energy throughout our bodies after
filtering it in the environment around us.  It is a generally accepted
notion that knowledge of the chakras originated from ancient Hindu
teachings, but the precise origins have been lost over time.   It is
believed that we have 7 major chakras and in many energy healing modalities
it is thought that our "energy body" consists of these plus additional
chakras, the aura and energy meridians.  

          Aura photography, pioneered in the 1940's by Kirlian (Russian
researcher), has been become a spiritual trend in recent times.  Ms. Compton
uses a computerized program (several programs of this type have been
developed) to detect a person's chakras and aura, and can even print out a
report of the results with explanation of their meanings.   If you have any
interest in this concept, this should prove to be an informative evening .

 

Open to the public. Love donations accepted to cover group operating costs
and allow offering free events.
