Black Lives Matter Vigil

Every Saturday - noon to 3:00 p.m. at the Putnam Street Bridge
Category: General

Join the Marietta Black Lives Matter Vigil! There will be a Black Lives Matter Vigil every Saturday from noon to 3:00 p.m. Participants hold signs and bear public witness of their support for racial justice improvements in our country. The vigil starts at the Putnam Street Bridge, the corner at the Muskingum Park parking lot. After a few hours there, the participants walk down Front St. to the fountain at the corner of Front and Greene and continue the vigil there. Several FUUSM members have been participating, and they report that they felt safe re COVID-19 ... people wore masks and maintained social distancing. They also said that drivers-by honking support help raise spirits, so if you can't be in the vigil, that's another way to show support for this cause.
