<div dir="auto" style="font-family:inherit;text-align:start">While the way people view this day varies, we are choosing to close because many people have the day off and it allows extended families and chosen friends to spend time together over a meal. <span style="font-family:inherit">At my house, I celebrate the bounty of the last harvest festival that many cultures throughout history have celebrated. To me, it’s time to button down the hatches and get cozy for the cold </span><span style="font-family:inherit"><a style="color:#385898;text-decoration:none;font-family:inherit" tabindex="-1"></a></span><span style="font-family:inherit">season ahead as we remember how blessed we have been to enjoy a plentiful year.</span></div>

<div dir="auto" style="font-family:inherit;text-align:start">I, myself, have divorced the celebration from the atrocities that our ancestors put upon the Native Americans. I grieve for all the cultures lost to the pursuit of “progress” and greed. I work every day with the goal to NOT continue that tradition and instead, to do things differently.</div>

<div dir="auto" style="font-family:inherit;text-align:start">In my personal life, I seek to learn about the systemic racist thinking that has permeated our culture. I seek to make changes as I find supremacist concepts that have snuck into my life. The ideas of tribal living and caring for those around us are all but gone. However, we can do little things in our own lives to bring back some form of community and support for our neighbors in need.</div>
