Hello to everyone! It is just great to read the posts from all of you. I
also love the quote about when we were birds singing at dawn and dusk. I am
enjoying time to just simply finally be home. We have been here in Waterford 8
years this month and I feel as if I have just landed. Perhaps now I may be able
to actually “bond” with this home. A “silver lining” it is! Each day I do what I
have always done in recent years, spend a short while reading my particular
daily meditations and remembering the Tecumseh prayer, followed by my mental
gratitude list. There have been so many times when that particular activity is
all that has chased away depression and/or desperation.

I am particularly happy that we were able to assist our daughter in her
planned ahead move to here in the country from Columbus (because her lease was
up) right in the middle of this. She finished cleaning her apartment today and
tonight is her last night up there with a friend. All precautions within our
power have been taken, with disinfecting wipes, gloves, & hand sanitizer.
Wiping of cars, U-hauls, door knobs, handles, even wiping our gloves regularly
& keeping away from the movers who were loading up the truck and each other
as much as possible. It is great how our daughters are finally becoming able to
help one another, I am ever curious how their roommate situation will play out.
LOL. (Another silver lining). I am very grateful for normal temperatures, as far
as today, and for family bonding even if by telephone, text or email. I still
detest Facebook, and consider it of value to some but a time suck for myself.

With Mama who is staying inside her home in Marietta, and George being very
high risk persons we are ever so-o-o aware of everything we touch. George is
breathing well as a result of regular nebulizer treatments at home, & his
cancer is still in remission. They are both as well as can be, and George was
even able to help with the moving (no lifting) since his leg has been properly
stented and has healed finally. He has been able to work all this first Quarter,
but is now out of work and in layoff status after five years, so he is one of
the many who will file an unemployment claim. He is still open to do touch up
repairs and spot painting at home, so we can supplement ourselves with that
work.

I am eager to mow the grass which is nearly as tall as me, just as soon as
the sun is out long enough to git-er-done! Our crocus & daffodils are
up, leaves are budding on the shrubs and trees, and strangely the leaves of the
“Naked Ladies” are a foot tall already. Neva Rees told me that is what they are
called, we always named them Resurrection Plants. They always shoot up blossoms
overnight, the last week of July after losing the foliage.

Great news, I managed to finish our taxes and drop them off to our CPA to
be filed yesterday, just before we were told to stay in. He can do them whenever
he decides to either go into the firm or work from home but they are a weight
from my shoulders. Now I can focus on organization, sorting, cleaning, and my
all time favorite of working outside with the flower beds. Like Anne, hoping for
the missing sun. If anyone has any large plastic reusable barrels, I sure could
use one to catch rainwater for the flower beds this year, and/or washing cars,
etc. – The check in idea is great, let’s keep them rolling. –<wlEmoticon-peace[1].png><wlEmoticon-redheart[1].png>Brenda

Greetings, friends -- I am agreeing with
both Jane and Annie. The A List for the Women of FUUSM is a good way for
us to keep in touch. Let's reserve Zoom for specific meetings. Our
numbers would be very difficult to manage in one Zoom session, but we can each
add on to this Check-in. The Worship & Music Committee (with Kat) met
yesterday to do some planning. I'll share the results soon, but using the
email List for Women was one suggestion, and it seems to be happening
organically. Personally, I am okay and feeling grateful for the
particulars of my overall situation.

yesterday: "Once upon a time, when women were birds, there was the simple
understanding that to sing at dawn and to sing at dusk was to heal the world
through joy. The birds still remember what we have forgotten, that the
world is meant to be celebrated." -- Terry Tempest Williams

Friends; It seems important that we find a way to communicate with
each other during this emergency. Do you have some ideas of how we
might get together online? I was thinking we could have a Zoom.com
call
online, and pick a topic for discussion. The call would include
a
check-in as well. Just some thoughts as I wonder how the weeks
will
treat us without getting together in some way.

We're all fine
at Blue Rock Station. It seems quite odd to tell people
they can't
join us...this is quite the opposite of how we've lived our
entire life
together. However I plan to get through this as unscathed
as
possible. We've been used to not shopping for the past four months
since it is our Thanks for Nothing Season so when we realized we'd
better stay in (a week ago Friday) we went to the grocery and the feed
store to replenish some scooby snacks and then we just went back to
living Thanks for Nothing Season except now it's likely to be a sixth
month season. YIKES!

My latest activity, besides working on
salvaging our business year, is
to plant some trees that arrived earlier
in the week, and also I made
some shampoo. The ingredients in
shampoo are frightening and I love the
way my homemade shampoo feels, even
after a few hours.

The goats have tried to scare me with two of them
being anemic and the
third one nearly as dangerously sick. I've
worked a lot of magic on
them so I'm hoping they will get through this
spell alive. The rain
does dangerous things to goats especially when
it rains this much.

This is my attempt at getting you to engage.
I'd love to hear what
you're doing and what's happening in your
neighborhood, OR the latest
about the FUUSM Sunday services.
