<p>The August women's group will meet at my place (formerly Margaret and Cindy Brown's place), 631 Second Street, at 6:00 on August 10. I have a latish meeting at the college that day, so my contribution to dinner will be simple--possibly some kind of flatbread

 or a quiche made ahead of time--and plenty of wine.</p>

<p>I have not thought of a theme, but this is the month I turn sixty, a stage of life I am finding easier and more enjoyable than those that came before (despite increasing decrepitude). So perhaps our theme is a reflection on the stages or passages of our

 lives, or what we notice most about our lives now, or something of the kind.</p>
