You will end up on a dirt road when another road is better, or worse a dirt road to nowhere.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><u>Directions from Marietta / Parkersburg</u><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:0in;margin-right:.5in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:.5in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'>- From Marietta OH, proceed north on Ohio Rt 7 and cross the Ohio River to WV Rt 2 at St Mary’s and continue north on WV Rt 2.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:0in;margin-right:.5in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:.5in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:0in;margin-right:.5in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:.5in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'>- From Parkersburg, proceed north on WV Rt 2 through St Mary’s and continue north on Rt 2.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><u>Scenic Back Country Shortcut:</u> (yes - it is paved. Saves about 20-30 minutes drive time. note: last 1 ½ mile is potholed with 2 bad slips. Road is narrow in places.)<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in'>- Continue on Rt 2 north to Friendly WV<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in'><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in'>- In Friendly, turn right onto Friendly Hill Rd-next to house with white picket fence. (Mile Point 0) The first part is steep and narrow with several switch backs and view of the river. From Friendly, you are about 10 miles from Rising Moon Farm.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in'><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in'>- Follow this road for about 6 miles (follow the double yellow center line) and cross over Middle Island creek and through the resort community of Little. (Mile Point 5.7) The yellow line ends in Little.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in'><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in'>- From Little, continue straight ahead for a little over a mile. The road changes it’s name to Dansers Lane. You will pass Cow House Road entering from your left and about 100 yds past this, turn right onto Stewart’s Run Rd. (Mile Point 7.0)<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in'>- Proceed up the valley on Stewart’s Run Rd to the top of the ridge (its narrow). As the ridge levels out, look for Little Sancho Creek Rd on your left. (Road sign may/or may not be there - keeps getting run over). Make a sharp left here, go up a slight rise, and proceed down the hill about another mile. (Mile Point 9.5)<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in'>- A little over a mile you will come to Rising Moon Farm on your right - The shop has a blue metal roof. The driveway to the new house (#3420) is another 200 yards down the road on the left. The old farm house (#3421) blue with white trim and white picket fence is on the right. Gardens are between the old farm house and shop. (Mile Point 10.7) <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><u>Main Road Route (about 20-25 minutes longer</u> + Oil & Gas Truck Traffic)<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:0in;margin-right:.5in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:.5in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'>- From St Mary’s continue on WV Rt 2 north through Friendly to Sistersville . Turn right onto Rt 18 south.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:0in;margin-right:.5in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:.5in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'>- Proceed on Rt 18 south thru Middlebourne and at the bottom of the hill on the south end of town, turn right onto a new wide bridge - Wick Road.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:0in;margin-right:.5in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:.5in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'>- At end of bridge, turn left and continue on the Wick Road.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:0in;margin-right:.5in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:.5in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'>- Go 3.1 miles and bear right at “Y” in road onto Little Sancho Creek Road. There is a sign for a Church of Christ. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:0in;margin-right:.5in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:.5in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'>- Go 3.4 miles from the Little Sancho Creek Rd Bridge and you have arrived at our place. Look for the old farmhouse (blue with white trim) and white picket fence on left. Driveway to the new house is on the right - # 3420.
