Hi all,

Darryl and I met with Ron Rees at his place (501 Millcreek Rd., Marietta) Sunday afternoon to survey the flora and discuss our planned gathering of the greens needed to decorate the church fence for the holidays. Although there are many
trees to cut branches from, it looks like we will need to carry or drag the greenery as far as a hundred feet or so to a loading area. Additionally, there are several small holly plants among the trees that can be taken for additional decoration. Those volunteering
should bring suitable cutting tools and we will need some open bed trucks and/or trailers to haul the greenery the 2 or 3 miles to the church.

If you are able to help at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 2, please meet us at Ron's place to gather the greenery. The current Accuweather forecast shows reasonable weather conditions for next Wednesday and I suggest sturdy clothing and
shoes to forage through the countryside. With good fortune, the greenery may be loaded and transported within a couple of hours and preliminary work at the church yard may be started to create the bundles of connected branches to decorate the fence. Our
goal is to complete the fence decoration project by the following day. Volunteers are needed in all phases of the project, so even if you are unable to help at Ron's, later participation at the church will be appreciated.

Next week is the start of gun deer season in Ohio and Ron indicated there are a couple of individuals who will be hunting on his property. However, he stated he will inform them of our project and ask them to conclude their hunt by 10 on
the 2nd. There is a deer stand in one of the pine trees in a central area that we will be working around and we were asked to avoid removing branches from it.

I plan to send out more information regarding the project early next week; but, for now, I encourage you to mark your calendars on the 2nd and the 3rd to help if you can.

Thanks,

Gary
