I am thinking about hosting a showing of this Netflix documentary
the week of Jan. 19th. It demonstrates a compelling argument for
what we are doing in the Philips Subdivision neighborhood, and by
passes so much of what we've been taught makes us "American" and
cuts right to the chase for the reason we must learn how to form
clubs and associations if we are to save our democracy. When I
first pitched the idea of the Neighborhood Group to ReImagine
Appalachia it competed with poor communities needing clean water,
or safer access roads and more. I thought everyone would think it
just didn't have enough importance to real cultural change for a
community. This documentary shows the science of what we are
doing, and it's re-affirming to see what's possible if we just
keep trying.

If you'd be interested in joining me to watch the documentary and
discuss how it might influence the work that each of us is doing
in different areas please let me know a date a time (could be in
daytime). I hope to have others from the neighborhood to join us.

So these kinds of leaders do not give us the answers, but they
