<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.5pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#222222">Despite the warm temperatures in the last several weeks, birds are already preparing for and beginning their migratory journeys. Many of our long-distance
 migrants, such as the Tennessee warbler, Ovenbird, and Ruby-throated hummingbird, will head to Central and South America where they will spend the winter. Their movements are signaling the changing of the seasons and soon we will begin to welcome cooler temperatures
 in one of my favorite times of year – fall!<u></u><u></u></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.5pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#222222">We made important progress last year through Ohio Lights Out. Our volunteer teams were busy recovering birds from window collisions, with nearly
 1/4 of those collected successfully rehabilitated and released into the wild. Unfortunately, most birds do not survive collisions. These birds will go into the scientific collections at places like the OSU Museum of Biodiversity. While these specimens provide
 important data for researchers, we hope that our efforts will greatly reduce rates of collisions in the future. You can find more information on our website at
