Dear All, Rebecca is doing an incredible job of finessing this River Bank project along. Dawn and Rebecca conversed with Mr. Wetz while I got better acquainted with Mr. Skinner, HR and this in command after the mayor and Wetz. <div><br></div><div>There is a dead tree coming out that Wetz thought would be a good place for the recharging bench. Since there is a large electric pole nearby, it could allow an-out of-reach solar panel installation. </div><div><br></div><div>Mark Swaney is good, hardworking fellow who owns two facing Fort St. properties and has been doing River bank mowing and weed dating because he cares. </div><div><br></div><div>Nick Arnold of Pickering and Assoc. is the architect volunteering to design the plans for River bank on the east side between Be my Thatcher lot and US Post Office. Many trees have been cut and the soil denuded. We must be vigilant that erosion control is installed before winter (perhaps winter the). </div><div><br></div><div>It takes a village. Dawn Hewitt, Roger Kalter, and I met with Steve Wetz and Jeff Skinner, Marietta's safety services director and his assistant. When I asked him about areas, his answer was basically "what do you want to do and what area do you want?" We have his approval for
planting a roughly 250x35-foot swath of city-owned riverbank along the 500 block of Fort Street. He suggests the riverbank across from Gilman United Methodist as a good site for a charging station and has offered the city light post if we want to elevate the
solar panels for security reasons. There is a staircase leading down from Fort Street, and he has said that the city should be able to put in a handrail. His request for our planting plan--a long season of bloom.</div>

Mr. Wetz is putting me on the schedule for the Lands, Buildings, and Parks committee meeting tomorrow. If the committee passes our proposal on to the full council and they approve it, we are good to go!</div>
