We also may have people in our congregation that would like to
have the food - this is not an issue necessarily of people needing
it because of poverty but one of using produce that goes to waste
for no reason. All produce is packaged at Aldi's so it is not
contaminated other then if it is sprayed in the processing of the
produce. People bring food into church every Sunday. Perhaps
there are some folks who might be willing to retrieve food for an
offering on Sundays and if so moved, leave a donation for social
justice or UU Green Sanctuary or something similar. Annie
Dear George, First time I became aware of the food waste was a
problem at Aldi’s when I saw two dumpster divers. I politely
asked them to close the dumpster doors when done. Dumpster trash
blows into the wooded area next to Aldi’s. (I cleaned 60
pounds).

I could see the bananas today as I rode River Trail. The
waste seems completely unnecessary given Harvest of Hope
volunteers

Make regular pick ups Someone at Aldi’s needs to pay more
close attention so good food makes it to those who can’t
afford fresh produce or other food. Roger
Visible from River Trail. Could only rescue half on bike.
Second time I be witnessed good food in the dumpster. <br

Will save gasoline for PD, but much more important is fuel
saved when people become more comfortable cycling for
travel and commuting. Marietta is the perfect town for
bike police. MC does it. Oberlin does it. Parkersburg does
it. Delaware does it. Marietta could do it. <br
