<div>I hope a bunch of you—especially you, Rebecca—are available to meet with me at 12:30 Sunday (or just as soon as we’ve all grabbed a cup of coffee and a bite to eat) to finalize plans for the Candidate Forum. I don’t have a room reserved, so we might just
have to occupy a corner of the social hall, or maybe we can move to the RE building if the parlor is available. </div>

<div>Here is what we need to discuss:</div>

<div><span class="x_Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"></span>Order of presentation among candidates</div>
<div><span class="x_Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"></span>Order of presentation of opening statements, questions, closing statements</div>
<div><span class="x_Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"></span>How much time for each component?</div>
<div><span class="x_Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"></span>Plus the open chair situation: Do we permit Johson’s aide to stand in for him —if we have given him the questions in advance of the event?</div>
<div><span class="x_Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"></span>Do appoint someone to read Sherrod Brown’s statement? Or do we not read Brown’s statement?</div>

<div>Here’s the thing I don’t understand: We have treated all these candidates equally. They were invited simultaneously with identical invitations. They all had the opportunity to participate, or if they couldn’t, to send a stand-in, or even a statement. They
all had the same opportunity. If they chose not to participate at all, why should their opponent be silenced? That makes no sense to me.</div>
