We can talk about being there for the entire world later.<o:p class=""></o:p></div><div style="margin: 0in; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;" class=""><o:p class=""> </o:p></div><div style="margin: 0in; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;" class="">Being there in this case means a regular financial contribution to a fund that is available to UU congregations with singular needs. FUUSM has received several Chalice Lighter grants since Adeline and I became a members here. We got help after the 2004(?) flood. We got help with our attic insulation installation and as George mentioned this morning, help with air conditioning the Sanctuary. This was not just “free money”, or a benevolent grant of some sort. This was the donations of a great many UUs in our region, including a few of us. Not only do we theoretically owe a larger share for what we have already received, but we may never qualify for another grant if more of us do not participate as actual donating Chalice Lighter members.
