Dear FUUSM members and friends;<div><br></div><div>Thanks for all the feedback about the bidding process. </div><div><br></div><div>What I said originally was that bidders should reply via email to me at <span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">my email address. I thought this would keep confusion and email blow-up to a minimum, that bidders would send their best bid first time around. Perhaps I underestimated the competitive nature of UUs?</span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><br></span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">Please keep in mind this is a small sale of Margaret’s things only, separate from the service auction, separate from any other fundraising efforts, such as the service auction, which may happen next year. </span><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">My hope was to keep it simple and raise a little money. </span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><br></span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">This has been a rough year, financially and otherwise, for the church. These things wound up with me bc Mike Bailey needed a place to put them. I had a brand new (and thus relatively empty) garage. My thought/hope was there would be some interest in a little online sale because these things were Margaret’s. </span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><br></span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">As for selling these things on marketplace or eBay, my thought was that things like needlepoint footstools abound and live forever on those sites. Nobody on marketplace or eBay will care that this particular stool once belonged to Margaret Fredericks and pay a little more because of that.</span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><br></span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">I hope this makes sense to everyone. The feedback I got yesterday indicated that nobody really cares how the bids are submitted, that they were merely seeking clarification. Since sending out each bid in an email blast to everyone results in a lot of full inboxes for all, including those who don’t plan to bid on anything, I’m going to ask again that your best bid be sent to me at my email address, as opposed to that of FUUSM. But if it’s easier for you to bid by hitting “reply all”, that’s okay,too.
