<div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:times new roman,serif;font-size:large">FUUSM Family,</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:times new roman,serif;font-size:large"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:times new roman,serif;font-size:large">There will be a Black Lives Matter Vigil every Monday from Noon to 6pm.  

Participants hold signs and bear public witness of their support for racial justice improvements in our country.  The vigil starts at the Putnam Street Bridge, the corner at the Muskingum Park parking lot.  After a few hours there, the participants walk down Front St. to the Fountain at the corner of Front and Greene and continue the vigil there.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:times new roman,serif;font-size:large"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:times new roman,serif;font-size:large">This vigil was started by a young man who didn't work on Mondays and thought it was something he could do as a followup to the Black Lives Matter rally in Marietta on June 7th.  So he announced his plan and invited people to join him.  You can attend for as long or short a time as you want.  If you don't have a sign, he has some extras.  He wants people to wear masks to keep safe, and has some extras if you forget.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:times new roman,serif;font-size:large"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:times new roman,serif;font-size:large">We attended for about 1 1/2 hours this past Monday, and it was great.  We felt safe re covid 19 ... people wore masks and maintained social distancing.  The group kept growing ... from about 6 when we started at noon to about 30 by the time we left.  It rained on us, but we had an umbrella ... he had some extras of those too.  But the group was undaunted.  They had a boom box going ... so we could move with the music.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:times new roman,serif;font-size:large"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:times new roman,serif;font-size:large"> 30-40 cars honked their support during the time we were there.  That was very uplifting, and we waved our signs back at them.  So if you can't be in the vigil, that's another way you can show support for this cause.  We recommend you really LEAN on the horn ... be loud and proud!  We can tell you it sure boosts the spirits of those in the vigil.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:times new roman,serif;font-size:large"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:times new roman,serif;font-size:large">We plan to do it again next Monday and have it pencilled in for every Monday.  It is good social justice work, satisfying, and fun.  Maybe we'll see you there.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:times new roman,serif;font-size:large"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:times new roman,serif;font-size:large">Darryl and Cynthia Ting</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:times new roman,serif;font-size:large"><br></div></div>
