The AA group is the only one that has asked to use the church since the pandemic, it's not like anyone has been turned away. At the board meeting the majority of us thought the compassionate thing would be to allow them to meet because missing a meeting or two can have serious consequences for someone who is struggling with alcoholism. I can't see that church members are harmed, the risk of any of us catching the covid-19 by touching something that they touched is negligible. Whatever risk there is is one that they are taking. I'm sure they are motivated to observe social distancing and all the rest as much as any of us. If there are any groups of church members who want to meet in the church, please have them get in touch with the board. I have been following this email. First off, I am upset for so many reasons not just what is happening in my UU church. To make sure I am clear -- the physical building that I am supporting by my financial support of the UU organization that I am currently
not able to use for church business / activities is being offered for use by outside organizations that are not complying with the recommended guidelines. For me this does not seem right. What am I to do? I guess I need to reevaluate the position?</div>

our events at FUUSM & our committees & discussion groups are meeting via zoom, etc …..., but we are opening events to outside groups without compliance of best practices. </div>

Maybe I missed something but going into the board meeting last week it <br>
seemed like people in general didn't want to open up the church or <br>
social hall yet. Then this week I see that it's happening, and from the <br>
looks of things it seems like the visits from people are not under the <br>
control of some sort of protection routine. I wrote a note listing <br>
criteria for this prior to the board meeting. Jay and I canceled <br>
holding the solar installer classes in the building out of realistic <br>
safety concerns (although I think he implied in a note that it was the <br>
board's decision). I also thought there was a task force forming to <br>
determine the best way to proceed - and I volunteered to serve on that <br>
but have heard nothing. What's up folks?<br>
