<div dir="auto">PRELUDE -  from: Children's Corner Suite - Dr. Gradus ad Parnassum   - Claude Debussy<div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">                     In this first movement of six, Debussy satirizes piano technical exercises; specifically, Gradus ad Parnassum, Op.44 by Muzio Clementi, a set of 100 exercises. Scales, arpeggios, etudes, etc., are dreaded by many piano students. For me the middle section represents a child's brief distracting and wistful daydream to go play outside (or do anything else); then, back to the boring drudgery.<br><br><div data-smartmail="gmail_signature" dir="auto">Randall Kidder</div></div></div>
