<div dir="auto">Hello FUUSM. As we wander through what amounts to an indefinitely long and challenging Sabbath with its analogous Judaic restrictions, it was suggested that I send out three pieces of music a week in lieu of sanctuary services. In the usual orders of service however, when the choir sings, there are four musical selections. I was also recently asked to include Gershwin's "Clap Yo' Hands." (I cannot help but wonder, if he had written this during the current worldwide pandemic whether he might have ironically titled it "Wash Yo' Hands")?  It is short so I decided to include it as well.<div dir="auto"><div dir="auto">Johann Kuhnau (1660-1722) wrote six Biblical Sonatas, examples of some of the earliest programmatic music (cf. absolute music), all based on stories from the Old Testament. It can be performed on harpsichord, organ, or piano.</div><div dir="auto">I'd like to extend a shout out to Mike Bailey for sending me years of accumulated music files from FUUSM services. </div><div dir="auto">And also thank you for your encouraging and supportive comments from the last several "playlists."  I miss doing the music in the sanctuary.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div></div><div data-smartmail="gmail_signature">Randall Kidder</div></div>
